Who is the Spinster

Welcome to my recipe blog! Most of my recipes will be twelve ingredients or less, be staples in your kitchen, plus include the cost of the meal. And I promise you won’t have to scroll through a novel to get to the recipe!

Who I am?

I’m old. Though my daughter calls me a spinster, I argue that because I’ve been married several times. Technically, according to my other daughter, I’m an old maid. I am an author, filmmaker and musician. More than that I am another of four and grandmother to 12.

My entire life has been living with someone, my parents, grandparents, one husband to another. My children were a constant for the last few decades. Then my home had a revolving door for my grown children and grandkids

I realized as a woman in my fifties I have never lived on my own. So I let my daughter take over the house and moved to an apartment 1/3 mile away. Baby steps

While one of the grandkids is always staying over my cool place, technically I’m living the lonee wolf life

Getting back on my writing schedule wasn’t easy, so I sought comfort I. What I live to do.

Cook.

When I mentally prepared to move out, I was convinced I would be eating a lot of take out. But then I realized it could cook what I wanted to eat and not worry.

And that’s why I started this blog.

I’m  not a formal cook, but a good one and I’ve prepared meals for 7 on a budget of $20, sometimes less

I promise to bring that to you. Feel free to share any variations of what I cook!
